The short version

Spela stores what it needs to run a tennis ladder and nothing more. No ads, no trackers, no analytics companies, and your data is never sold or shared. Everything lives on our own server in Norway.

What we store

Your account comes from Sign in with Apple: a private identifier, your name, and your email if you chose to share it. Your profile is what you add yourself, like a photo, a bio, your nationality and your club. Your matches are the results you and your opponents log, including scores and your rating on the ladder.

Your location

If you allow it, Spela uses your location to show open matches and players near you. Other players never see where you are. They only ever see how far away a court is from them.

Your calendar

If you allow it, Spela puts your scheduled matches into your calendar and keeps them up to date when plans change. The app only ever touches events it created itself. Nothing from your calendar is read into the app or sent anywhere.

Notifications

If you turn notifications on, Apple gives us a delivery address for your phone so we can tell you when somebody wants to play. That is all it is used for.

Shared links

When you share a profile or a match, we count that the link was opened. No cookies, no fingerprinting, and nothing about who opened it.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account inside the app, in Settings. Your name, username, photos and profile are removed everywhere, immediately. Results of matches you played remain in your opponents' histories, without your identity, because a result belongs to both players.

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be removed. Write to fabian@spela.no. Spela is made by Røsholm AS in Trondheim, Norway, and Norwegian and European privacy law applies.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date.
