What Spela is

Spela is a free iPhone app for finding people to play tennis with. It matches you with players at your level near you, wherever in the world you are, and gives every player a rank they can earn and climb.

How it works

You post an open match or take somebody else's, meet on court, and log the score. Your first five matches are placement matches that find your level. After that you have a rank, and every ranked match moves it. You can also play and log casual matches that never touch your rank.

Who it is for

Everyone from first rally to tournament player. Competing in tennis used to require joining tournaments. In Spela everyone competes from day one, at their own level, the way ranked matchmaking works in games. Beginners meet beginners and strong players meet strong players.

Where it works

Anywhere. Spela has no home turf. Your matches are found around wherever you are, so it works in your own city and in any city you land in. Travelers find local players at their level the day they arrive.

What it costs

Spela is free. There are no ads and no trackers, and your data is never sold. Read the privacy policy for the full picture.
